Andrews Institute physician named to United States Tennis Association Sport Science Committee

Brett Kindle, M.D. to serve as medical expert for national governing body for tennis

WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. (March 21, 2019) - Andrews Institute for Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine physician Brett Kindle, M.D., CAQSM, RMSK, has been named to the United States Tennis Association (USTA) Sport Science Committee. The USTA is the national governing body for the sport of tennis and the recognized leader in promoting and developing the sport’s growth on every level in the United States.

As one of 16 experts within their respective areas of sport science named to the USTA Sport Science Committee, Dr. Kindle will play a vital role in producing, evaluating and disseminating sport science and sports medicine information relevant to tennis.

One of my goals is to use this experience to provide our surrounding community’s tennis players, of all ages, with leading-edge and research-supported treatment options for injuries related to tennis.”

Dr. Kindle is non-surgical sports medicine physician that specializes in the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of acute injuries of the musculoskeletal system. He is an industry leader in the use of musculoskeletal ultrasound for the diagnoses and treatment of injuries, as well as the use of regenerative medicine procedures such as Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) and stem cell procedures.

During his two-year appointment, Dr. Kindle will work closely with the USTA Player Development staff, and will lead efforts to publish new tennis research and report on tennis research taking place throughout the world.

Andrews Institute is an Official Medical Services Provider for the USTA National Campus in Orlando, Florida. Andrews Institute employs full time certified athletic trainers and sports physical therapists that provide sports medicine coverage for USTA Player Development, tournaments and programs on-campus. Andrews Institute is also the Official Sports Medicine Provider for the Roger Scott Tennis Center in Pensacola, Florida.
