The Andrews Institute for Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine was designed to provide an all–inclusive facility for patients to quickly and easily access. Our campus is comprised of the following clinical departments in order for the patient and their family to receive their care all within–one area for an additional level of convenience.
The Andrews Institute Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) is 26,000 square feet including eight digital operating rooms with multi–specialty surgical capabilities. Features of the surgery center include interactive observation and digital imaging as well as video and audio conferencing. Innovative anesthesia and pain management techniques allow patients to go home comfortably within hours after a procedure. The Institute uses the ASC not only to treat patients but has the capability to train physicians on the latest surgical techniques through a variety of educational opportunities including our fellowship program.
Expanded radiology services at the Andrews Institute include digital radiology and the 3–Tesla MRI which produces a better image quality with faster output; providing a shorter test time for patients. The Institute was the first in the Gulf Coast to have the 3–Tesla MRI available to patients.
Andrews Institute Rehabilitation (AIR) is 12,000–square–feet with the latest state–of–the–art equipment, with our headquarters located in Gulf Breeze, Florida. A progressive, specialized approach to injury treatment combines patient education, individualized exercise, manual therapy, aquatic therapy and a full range of modalities within physical therapy, speech therapy and occupational therapy including a Workers Comp program. AIR has several convenient locations located throughout Northwest Florida and Southern Alabama.
The Institute is also home to EXOS (formerly Athletes’ Performance). An internationally known organization for training some of today’s top professional and elite athletes, Athletes’ Performance opened their Florida facility to compliment the Institute’s medical services. Other locations include Tempe, Arizona, Los Angeles and Dallas. Not only available to the elite, Athletes’ Performance has programs for executives as well as a college prep program open to athletes as young as 14 years of age. The partnership allows an athlete to receive their medical care at the Institute then go on to train at Athletes’ Performance under the direction of their strength and conditioning coaches. An Andrews Institute physician is always available if there is a concern regarding their training progress or protocols.
The Andrews Institute for Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine does not exist as a recognized business entity. Rather, that title describes a location or campus that houses multiple separate, independent and joint-venture businesses to provide medical, health care and performance services to the public, setting a level of convenience unprecedented in any health care setting. Although multiple legal entities exist to provide these services, the Andrews Institute for Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine is unlike any other health care facility and is promoted as an access model and example of integrated medical services.
